12/29/2023 0 Comments Speak write typistSpeakWrite pays $0.005 per word typed for a primary/standby primary shift and they do pay idle time if you are primary. I work around her schedule, about 15-25 hours per week or so. I am a stay-at-home mom and home school my 7- year- old daughter. You either work at the grocery store, gas station, or if you're lucky a local office and earn between minimum wage and $10 per hour. I live in an extremely rural area where work is scarce. First of all, this job isn't going to make you a millionaire. One states "I don't even make enough to cover self-employment taxes." Interesting since you pay taxes based on what you earn, so if you are a responsible adult and put away a portion of every check, you shouldn't have an issue. I've read the other reviews and a lot don't even make sense to me. Aside from what I have written, I have enjoyed my time with SpeakWrite. Speakwrite has recently changed the templates to be used and this in itself requires more time for the typist to read the instructions and then decide which template to use. The Proofreaders are not consistent when dealing with the so called "grey" areas, etc. One will mark a typist down and when the typist performs another job using the advice given, another Proofreader marks the typist down as the Proofreader doesn't agree with what the other Proofreader told the typist to do. The only other drawback is the Proofreaders within the firm. Not enough it should be $1.50 at a minimum. I do agree that too much time is wasted on short letters that earn the typist a minimum of $0.50. The company is on top of any new technology required for the typists be it, Legal or General. One review indicated technology has not been updated in five years. I have been with the company since 2000 and have the highest regard for management. The company is fantastic to work with and for.
